Fairfood receives the 2nd NFP true pricing seed fund grant
We are happy to announce that Fairfood is the second organization which will receive a grant from the NFP true pricing seed fund !
Fairfood will use the grant to develop a true price transparency tool which will be integrated into its ESG dashboard ‘Navigate’. The tool will focus on social externalities such as living income and environmental externalities such as deforestation and emissions. The project will further build on the Living Income Price (LIP) methodology which Fairfood recently developed in partnership with Heifer.
During the true price tool development phase, Fairfood will focus on the coffee sector in the Honduran regions Comaygua and Copan. Through interactive workshops the Farmer Cooperatives (COPRACNIL, CAFEPSA, APROSACAO) will be trained in data collection and utilization of Fairfood’s Navigate platform with the true pricing insights. Furthermore private sector partners such as Molinos de Honduras and Hawit CAFEX will learn how to integrate the true pricing datasets within their sourcing and purchasing practices.
The true price insights and transparency delivered through Navigate will form the bases of discussions between the above mentioned actors, exploring strategies for ensuring fair compensation to farmers while achieving their sustainability goals and those of their clients.
We are glad to be able to make such an important and impactful project possible.
