Food Systems in Practice: A Pilot Practical Training of the Food Systems e-Course

The Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) and Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI) have been delivering the food systems e-course since 2020.

Bram de Groote, Sustainable Food Systems Advisor at WCDI, has been leading the e-course for the past five editions. He says, “there were many questions and requests on how to use the food systems approach on concrete challenges.” Participants ask: Where do you start if you want to analyse a specific case? What tools could you best use and in what way?

In response to the request and to address the above questions, the 2024 edition of the food systems e-course was followed by a five-week practical training – Food Systems in Practice.

The pilot practical training was organized on September for groups of participants from organisations in four countries. Together with Bram, Maree Bouterakos from WCDI and Wim Goris from NFP facilitated the Food Systems in Practice training.

This short video highlights the key moments and lessons during the pilot exercise. Will there be a subsequent Food Systems in Practice training next year? You may find the answer in the video.
