Climate Week NYC

September 21, 2024 - September 28, 2024
Online & On location
Event by The Climate Group and United Nations General Assembly
Climate Week NYC is the largest annual climate event of its kind, bringing together over 600 events and activities across the City of New York in person, hybrid and online. Each year, business leaders, political change makers, local decision takers and civil society representatives of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the world, gather to drive the transition, speed up progress, and champion change that is already happening.
This year Climate Week NYC will present a full program of some 600 events and activities in New York City. For those unable to attend in-person, we'll stream key sessions from the week available through our on demand page. Wholly digital events are also included in Climate Week NYC’s Events program.
The Climate Week NYC Opening Ceremony is the most high-profile moment of the week. Taking place on Sunday, September 22. The event will feature major announcements, discussions, and interviews with international leadership from business, government, and the climate community. Recent speakers included Prince Charles, Tim Cook, Jacinda Adern, the Hon. Chris Bowen, Kristalina Georgieva, Kathy Hochul, and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Climate Week NYC 2024’s theme of It’s Time highlights the urgent need for progress, to triple renewable capacity and double energy efficiency. We need to accelerate scalable innovation in energy storage, grid infrastructure, low carbon steel and concrete production, and in finance. At the Opening Ceremony, climate leaders will come together to discuss their plans and the steps taken to meet this moment and accelerate progress on global climate action goals.
