This conference is an important moment to also highlight the critical intersection of biodiversity and food systems, emphasizing their importance in achieving sustainable development.

Key Highlights to be expected from the COP:

  • Review of Implementation: Governments will review the progress of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
  • Alignment of NBSAPs: Parties will showcase how their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans align with the Framework.
  • Monitoring and Resource Mobilization: Further development of the monitoring framework and resource mobilization for biodiversity.
  • Digital Sequence Information: Finalizing the multilateral mechanism for the fair and equitable sharing of benefits from digital sequence information on genetic resources.
