Financing the Future of Food

The event will bring together key players from the Dutch public and private financial sectors, as well as relevant non-financial stakeholders in the agri-food sector. The focus will be on low and middle-income countries. We will explore what food system transformation is and in particular how finance can drive food system transformation, using the food system transformation scenarios of Nakuru, Kenya as a case study. This event will set the stage for joint follow-up action, through the NFP Community of Practice Food System Finance and a follow-up meeting in Kenya later this year.

This gathering will provide a vital opportunity for joint learning on the role of finance in food systems transformation, sharing the latest insights from experts at FAO (SOFI 2024), IFAD (3FS) (tbc), the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and fostering meaningful interactions among participants.
