Museon, The HagueEvent by International Union for Conservation of Nature in The Netherlands (IUCN) and Partners for Water
Biodiversity is worldwide under serious pressure. One million species are threatened and populations of mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians and birds have dropped with 69% in the last fifty years. At the same time humans depend on what nature offers them to fulfill all their social and economic needs and desires. Reducing biodiversity decline and increasing water security is vital to maintain our life support system for present and future generations.
Therefore, the International Union for Conservation of Nature in The Netherlands (IUCN) and Partners for Water joined forces for the event: Shaping a Biodiversity Proof Future on October 1, 2024.
This event will showcase the value of biodiversity, it will give insights in overcoming obstacles to combat biodiversity decline and increasing water security
and how to mainstream biodiversity within international development and water security programmes.
This event will serve as a dynamic stage for discussing the integration of biodiversity into the international work of the watersector. It will address systemic challenges and explore practical applications, providing an opportunity to:
- Drive impactful change through collective action.
- Share knowledge and insights on innovative practices and cases.
- Learn how to integrate biodiversity into international water security and development strategies
This event is designed for engaged experts, policy makers and businesses experienced in or eager to learn more about Shaping a Biodiversity Proof Future.
