Are you active in the horticulture sector? And would you like to know more about your opportunities in Nigeria? Then join the horticulture trade mission to Nigeria from 23 to 27 March 2025. Participation in the NL pavilion at trade fair Agrofood Nigeria 2025 is part of this mission.

Why participate?

During this mission, Dutch companies can investigate their market opportunities in Nigeria and further shape the cooperation between the Netherlands and Nigeria in the focus sector horticulture & starting materials. This mission offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the Nigerian horticulture sector and to develop, start up and expand new partnerships.

Combitrack Nigeria

Nigeria is one of the 14 so-called combination countries from the BHOS policy note 2022 ‘Doing what the Netherlands does best’. The Netherlands is now developing a combitrack strategy for further development of the horticultural sector in south-west Nigeria. This trade mission is part of that strategy and aims to strengthen the two-way relationship between the two countries. The aim of this mission is also to improve private sector and economic cooperation in the agriculture sector.

The main focus areas of this mission are:

  • starting materials
  • horticulture
  • potato cultivation

Other key sub-sectors of the mission include, among others: fertilisers, greenhouse technology, food processing, and agro-logistics. During the trade mission, 2 key ongoing studies will be presented:

  • ‘Horticulture Sector Roadmap for Southwest Nigeria’, a strategy for horticulture sector development in the 6 states of Southwest Nigeria.
  • 'Seed Supply to Smallholder Potato Producers in Nigeria: Alternative Pathways to the Market', concrete recommendations on market access for Dutch potato companies that want to supply Nigerian farmers with quality potato planting material.

Market opportunities in Nigeria's horticulture

There are many market opportunities for the Dutch agribusiness sector in Nigeria's (covered) horticulture. The Nigerian sector is very interested in Dutch products and services.

During this mission, you will gain more insight into the opportunities. The programme includes:

  • participation in the trade fair with a (free) stand in the Dutch pavilion;
  • seminars;
  • networking events;
  • an Agropreneur Award;
  • individual matchmaking;
  • field and company visits.

This mission builds on the success of the Dutch pavilion at the 2023 and 2024 Agrofood Nigeria trade fair.
