Delta After Talk: human-centered design in climate services

A collaboration between AMD and WUR, Delta Talks is a webinar series focusing on the development and results of research activities on securing food systems and strengthening climate resilience in the Asian mega-deltas. Delta Talks serves as a platform for the joint exchange of research results or ongoing work between AMD and WUR. Netherlands Food Partnership contributes to this series by sharing the webinars with our broader community with the aim of including additional insights and expertise into the conversation.

For the eleventh installment of Delta Talks, the CGIAR Initiative on Asian Mega-Deltas (AMD) and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) presented a webinar on human-centered design in climate services.

Ms. Luong Van Lam, a visiting researcher at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, talked about the results of their study examining how rice farmers in the Mekong River Delta (MRD) access and utilize climate information. She discussed the current information sources of climate information and advisory for rice farmers in MRD, how farmers experience the Agro-climatic Bulletin (ACB), and different user groups based on needs and preferences. The research focused on Hau Giang and Soc Trang provinces in Vietnam.
