February 5th Parliamentary Roundtable on Food Security: Ivo Demmers presenting the added value of collaboration for resilient food systems

On February 5 12:30-14:30, the Executing Director of Netherlands Food Partnership, Ivo Demmers, will take part in a Roundtable on Food Security at the Dutch Parliament. The commission on Foreign Trade and Development Aid organises this public session with the aim to be informed by experts on: 1) the definition and challenges of food security and 2) the Dutch contributions to food security worldwide.

Netherlands Food Partnership's contribution will be on the basis of a position paper: 'The Dutch Diamond approach: Advancing Global Food & Nutrition Security' (see download link). This paper is written in line with the call made to the new Dutch government in 2024 'Dutch approach to worldwide food security works!' (the original call supported by 95 organisations and its elaboration).

Main points of the paper:

  1. Continue the effective and equal cooperation with multiple stakeholders
  2. Support to make food systems more resilient to shocks
  3. Strengthen Dutch Food Diplomacy

For the livestream link and more information on the Roundtable, such as other speakers and their position papers, see the button above. The Roundtable is public so you are also welcome to join in person. All you have to do is register in advance or on the spot - in both cases do not forget your ID.

Also relevant to this Roundtable is Partos' report about the debate on the future of cooperation with civil society organisations in development cooperation from January 29, 2025.
